Emotion-Focused Therapy is a form of talk therapy that enhances your emotional intelligence, which can help you in: problem solving, managing behaviour, and working through emotions or intense states. Emotion-focused therapy is an evidence-based approach that can effectively assist with the treatment of anxiety, depression, and trauma. This approach is helpful in getting at a deeper level of self-connection and helps develop a greater felt sense of wholeness within oneself.
Although not well known, psychoanalytic/psychodynamic therapy is evidence-based and empirically validated. It incorporates the approaches of Freud, Jung, and their followers. Some examples of the psychodynamic/psychoanalytic therapeutic approaches I use are Jungian and archetypal approaches, dream analysis, and identifying schema patterns
Identifying and shifting unhelpful thinking (cognitive) patterns, we will look at the role your thinking and belief systems have on your life. Using a depth therapy approach, we will identify and explore your core beliefs and worldviews that your thoughts are stemming from, and consider them from a historical perspective. CBT & DBT also have a mindfulness approach for symptom relief.
