A limited number of spots are currently available.

Sometimes the patterns shaping us live beneath the surface of conscious awareness.

This Intensive is designed to increase your sense of wholeness and self-compassion.

You may notice:

  • A harsh or persistent inner critic
  • Difficulty feeling good enough, even when you know otherwise intellectually
  • Ongoing anxiety, emotional tension, or self-doubt
  • Feelings of emptiness, disconnection, or low self-worth
  • Difficulty accessing self-compassion
  • A sense of being “stuck” in the same emotional states.

Even when life externally is “fine,” internally it may not feel that way.

This structured two-session intensive uses advanced hypnotherapy protocols combined with Emotion Focused Therapy to work directly with internal emotional states and the subconscious.

What to Expect

The Self-Worth Hypnotherapy Intensive consists of two 90-minute sessions, typically scheduled 1–2 weeks apart. Each session combines therapeutic exploration with extended guided hypnosis and emotional processing.

Session 1: Understanding & Beginning the Work

The first session begins with a focused intake to understand what you're experiencing, what you would like to change, and the patterns that may be contributing to how you feel about yourself.

We may explore:

  • Self-worth, self-criticism, and recurring emotional patterns
  • Experiences that have shaped how you relate to yourself
  • Desired internal states such as confidence, calm, self-trust, or self-compassion
  • Relevant questionnaire results or themes identified before the session

The remainder of the session moves into advanced hypnotherapy and emotional processing, personalized around the themes we've identified.

You'll also receive guided hypnosis audio work to use daily between sessions.

Between Sessions: Integration

Sessions are usually spaced 1–2 weeks apart, allowing time for the work from the first session to settle and integrate.

During this time, you'll be encouraged to use your hypnosis recording and notice any changes in your emotions, thoughts, self-talk, or relationship with yourself.

Session 2: Deepening & Integrating

The second session begins by exploring what you've noticed since our first meeting and identifying where further work may be helpful.

The session then moves into the second session of advanced hypnotherapy and emotional processing, which may include:

  • Working with self-critical or limiting internal beliefs
  • Processing emotionally significant experiences
  • Working with younger or protective parts of yourself
  • Strengthening self-compassion, internal safety, and self-trust
  • Reinforcing new emotional responses and ways of relating to yourself

We finish by reflecting on the work you've done and identifying ways to continue supporting these changes beyond the intensive.

Therapy can help you feel more whole, confident, and freer.

Approach used in the Intensive

This intensive draws from several therapeutic approaches used in my depth-oriented practice, including:

The Self-Worth Intensive is primarily guided by Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy, with elements of psychodynamic, attachment-based, parts-work, cogntive-behavioural, and somatic approaches incorporated where helpful.

Guided hypnosis supports focused attention and deeper exploration of emotional experiences, internal beliefs, and patterns that may be difficult to access through cognitive approaches alone.

The work is collaborative and trauma-informed, with an emphasis on emotional processing, self-compassion, internal safety, and a healthier relationship with yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Hypnotherapy Intensive

  • That's completely normal. Many people experience concerns that span multiple areas, such as anxiety, self-worth difficulties, relationship patterns, and nervous system overwhelm.

  • Each intensive has a primary focus, but treatment can be tailored to your needs. During a consultation, we can discuss your goals and determine the approach that best fits your situation.

  • Many internal patterns are not just cognitive—they’re emotional and nervous system-based. You may understand why you think or feel a certain way, but in the moments that matter, your reactions can still feel automatic.
  • This is because these patterns are:
    • Learned through repeated emotional experiences
    • Reinforced over time
    • Stored not just in thoughts, but in the body and nervous system
  • So even with strong self-awareness, you might still find yourself:
    • Falling into the same emotional loops
    • Reacting in ways that don’t reflect what you “know”
    • Feeling stuck between insight and action
  • In addition to understanding your patterns, we focus on:
    • Accessing and processing the emotional layers underneath them
    • Shifting how your nervous system responds in triggering moments
    • Creating new internal experiences—not just new explanations
  • The goal is to help your internal responses begin to change—not just your understanding of them.
  • Weekly therapy offers space for ongoing reflection, support, and gradual change over time. An intensive is structured differently.
  • The Hypnotherapy Intensive consists of two extended and concentrated sessions designed to work more directly and consistently with a specific internal pattern or set of patterns.
  • This allows for:
    • Deeper continuity between sessions
    • More time to work through patterns in a highly condensed way
    • A more immersive process of insight, emotional processing, and integration
  • It can be a good fit if you:
    • Feel stuck in patterns despite previous therapy or self-work
    • Want to focus on a specific issue more intensively
    • Prefer a more structured, short-term format alongside or instead of weekly therapy
  • Some people use intensives as a standalone process, while others integrate them with ongoing therapy.
  • The aim isn’t to replace weekly therapy—but to offer a different format that can support enhanced depth or more accelerated work when it’s needed.
  • To receive partial or full coverage for your intensive, please make sure that your plan covers treatment by Canadian Certified Counselors (CCC) or Registered Social Workers (RSW) with an MSW (Master of Social Work), as those are my designations. Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, services may be covered in full or in part.
  • Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services, including services that are beyond a standard 50-minute session. Questions to ask include:
    • “Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
    • “Does my plan only cover certain types of mental health professionals?”
    • “Does my plan have a limit on how much it will cover per session? Does that change depending on the length of the session?”
    • “Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year it will cover? If so, what is the limit?”
    • “Do I need written approval from a primary care physician for services to be covered?”
  • Yes. If you are seeing another therapist, an intensive with me can be a collaborative experience. If you like, I can coordinate with your current therapist both before and after the intensive, so that you can get the most out of your experience by integrating it with your ongoing treatment.
  • With the Hypnotherapy Intensive, A two-session (3-hour) intensive allows us to focus more deeply on internal emotional patterns and your relationship with yourself over a concentrated period of time.

    During the process, clients often:

    • Gain clearer insight into the internal patterns that shape their thoughts, emotions, and self-perception
      • Identify underlying dynamics such as self-criticism, core beliefs, emotional triggers, or protective patterns
      • Explore how these patterns developed and how they continue to influence current emotional experiences
    • Begin shifting their internal responses, including how they relate to difficult thoughts and feelings
    • Strengthen emotional regulation and reduce the intensity of anxiety or low mood
    • Develop a more compassionate and stable relationship with themselves
    • Build access to inner resources, including a greater sense of grounding, clarity, and the “wise self”
  • That depends.

Some people use a therapy intensive to bring focused attention to a specific issue or stuck point, and then return to their ongoing therapy with greater clarity or momentum.

Others benefit from continued support as they integrate what emerged during the intensive and apply it within their day-to-day lives. For many people, this integration phase is where deeper, lasting change takes place.

Occasionally, a person may feel satisfied with what they explored in an intensive and choose not to continue with ongoing therapy at that time.

For individuals with complex or developmental trauma, ongoing therapy is typically the most supportive foundation. In select cases, an intensive may be used thoughtfully as a supplement to longer-term work, rather than as a stand-alone or primary approach.

  • All of Smart Therapy’s services, including intensives, are currently only available via telehealth (online).
