Psychotherapeutic treatments

Smart Therapy: Insight-driven depth therapy

I use these approaches to help guide clients through their own personal therapeutic transformation:

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy
  • Psychodynamic Therapy:
    • Psychoanalytic approaches
      • Which can include exploration of attachment style and it's impact on relationships, worldview, and one's nervous system
    • Schema Therapy
      • Combines cognitive-behavioral and psychoanalytic approaches to help you identify the mental filters shaping your emotions, relationships, and view of the world
    • Jungian Therapy
      • Can include exploration of the shadow, Dream Analysis, active imagination, or creative approaches (eg. art therapy activities for in between sessions)
    • 'Archetypal Psychology' approaches
      • Including exploration of Archetpal and Personality factors: Enneagram Therapy, exploration of the MBTI, and mythology-related archetypes
    • Dream Analysis or Dream Therapy
      • Making the unconscious conscious to further self-understanding, healing, and growth

In addition to these talk therapy approaches I offer these mindfulness and somatic brain-body therapies:

  • Brainspotting & Expansion Brainspotting
    • A brain-body therapy which supports the treatment of anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and trauma among other conditions
    • Brainspotting is also available as a three-hour Therapy Intensive, which is a highly focused treatment of several hours duration in a single day.
  • Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapy for Inner Child Healing
    • A mind-body therapy which treats a wide variety of conditions. An advanced hypnotherapy treatment is focused on inner child healing to support mood and trauma treatment

How We Can Work Together

Session Length Options

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all: the depth, pace, and focus of our work can vary depending on what you’re needing at a given point in your healing process. To offer flexibility while still maintaining the integrity of depth-oriented therapy, I offer several session length options. Each serves a different purpose and can be chosen based on your goals, capacity, and where we are in the therapeutic process.

50-Minute Standard Session

The standard 50-minute session is the foundation of depth therapy and the most common format for ongoing work. This length provides the time and spaciousness needed to explore unconscious material, work through emotional patterns, and integrate new insights into your day-to-day life. Most clients attend weekly or bi-weekly 50-minute sessions, which support steady progress and allow our work to unfold in a contained and consistent way.

80-Minute Extended Session

For clients who want to either go deeper or combine modalities within a single session, 80-minute extended sessions offer a more immersive experience. This longer format is also ideal when we’re integrating approaches such as Brainspotting or Clinical Hypnotherapy with talk therapy, or when we’re doing more intensive processing, exploring attachment dynamics, or complex emotional material. Some people find it takes them a while to "warm up" in a therapy session, and they tend to do deeper emotional work later on in a session. The added time allows for deeper exploration, fuller integration, and a more expansive therapeutic experience — especially valuable during transitional periods or when addressing long-standing patterns.

30-Minute Brief Focus Session

Occasionally, what feels most useful isn’t a full therapy session but a shorter, more targeted check-in. Brief Focus Sessions are designed for moments like these: when you want to integrate insights between sessions, focus on one brief specific concern, or receive support during a period of increased stress. These sessions can also be helpful for brief follow-ups after intensive work or to anchor new skills and strategies into daily life.

Because depth work unfolds most effectively in longer sessions, I recommend using these shorter appointments as a complement to (not a replacement for) your regular therapy sessions. Brief Focus Sessions are available to ongoing clients and can be booked directly through the online scheduling system.
